Introduction	I am a fifty-four year old, very happily married man (My wife Laura is in the picture above!) We have a beautiful daughter, Chloe and a delightful little son, Jackson. I have three other magnificent children, Dominique Leanne Heuerman, Meghan Camille Finley and Nathan Russell Finley. I am a retired police detective late of the Pasadena Police Department in California. I also had a career as a professional opera singer which ran concurrent with my law enforcement career. I have decided to start this Blog after posting a couple of things on my Facebook sight and getting some interesting feedback from my wife, family and friends. I will talk about a wide variety of things here, everything from soup to nuts as they say. So...stay tuned.
Interests	Opera and music in general, I sing and compose a wide variety of music, Napoleon Bonaparte and the French Army, Frederick The Great and the Prussian Army, Japanese Military History, German Military History, British Military History, Military History in General, Languages, Astronomy, Golf, Tennis, I build military miniatures (cheifly Napoleonic Figures), ships, aircraft and vehicles.
Favorite movies	The Godfather Parts I II and III, Casablanca, The Last Samurai, Gettysberg, Tombstone, The Caine Mutiny, Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers (Yes I know. This was actually a television series, so sue me!) Breaker Morant, Zulu, Zulu Dawn, Das Boot, Lawrence of Arabia, My Favorite Year,
Favorite music	Puccini's La Boheme, Verdi's Don Carlo, and anything else by Puccini or Verdi, Bizet's Pearl Fishers, Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto and Second Symphony, Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, Anything by Roy Orbison, Springsteens "Born To Run" and "Hungry Heart". Beethoven's Symphonies and his song "Adeliade".
Favorite books	The Cross of Iron by Willi Heinrich, Armageddon by Leon Uris, Siddartha by Hermann Hesse, Also Sprach Zaratustra by Friedrich Nietsche, The Campaigns of Napoleon by David Chandler, Drei Kameraden by Erich Maria Remarque and All Quiet on the Western Front from that same author.
