| Introduction | I am a full-time certified organic farmer who grows cherries, apples, and miscellaneous veggies, and spoiled sheep on our farm (Fat Robin Orchard & Farm) on Flathead Lake. My husband, Albert, and I enjoy the company of one geriatric cat and a multitude of wild things. Albert still has a "day" job and is an above-average farmhand (he’s cheap, too!) In addition to the farming, I dabble in developing some value-added products from our farm, fused glass, handmade toiletries, and knitting, as well as doing contract work, organic and otherwise, for others. I drive a mean tractor, make fabulous gourmet pancakes, bake delicious bread, and am addicted to books on my iPod. At 49, I am a work in progress, and am still waiting to feel like a grown-up. |
When your science teacher smashed a frozen rose with a hammer, did you warm the petals to bring them back to life?
I never did that in science class, but I would like to think I would have taken the petals and made something wonderfully fragrant and soothing with them. Life taken, even plant life, should never be wasted.
