| Favorite music | My all-time favorite happy music is the Ramones or Frank Sinatra. Also anything by Sparks, Dean Martin, The Cocteau Twins, Hank Williams, the Smiths and Pulp. I've been on an 80s dark wave kick lately listening to New Order, Joy Division, Siouxie & the Banshees, Pet Shop Boys (not really dark wave but 80s). I'm a big Amanda Palmer fan in all her iterations (and a big Neil Gaiman fan, who is her husband.) I've been obsessed with the song Pumped up Kicks by Foster the People, which is not new but new to me. And when I want mindless fun/entertainment while I'm designing stuff on the computer I've been loving Scissor Sisters (Let's Have a Kiki and Return to Oz are on constantly) and Mika (Cartoon Motion album). Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters sounds just like the singer in Mika and I thought they were the same band until recently. I love Pandora.com. | Favorite books | Lately, The final installment of The Fallen, Armageddon i by Thomas E. Sniegoski (Not the I-heart bad boys-angels series Fallen by Lauren Kate.) Neil Gaiman's The Ocean at the End of the Lane A Wrinkle In Time, Madeline L'Engle Marie Laveau by Francine Prose. Fictional account of Marie Laveau, New Orleans Voodoo Queen. A-mazing! One of her first novels (1977). It was truly magical. The Book of Enoch |
