Introduction When I moved to Folkestone, from London, in 2013 I went to The Bayle Residents AGM and when no-one volunteered to take on the role of Neighbourhood Watch coordinator. I looked up on the Internet, to see what was involved and managed to hold a coffee morning, in our communal lounge, inviting a Police Liaison officer to give a talk and about 30 neighbours attended. I also set about getting new members, by dropping off N/Watch leaflets through people's doors, putting up posters and getting email contacts. Then I invited a local official from Environmental Safety dept of the Folkestone Council and he also came and gave a talk at another coffee morning. During the first year, we had 14 incidents reported, the following year 17 and this last year 9. I have also joined East Kent Together Group, which includes Harbour Ward, East Folkestone, West Folkestone and Folkestone Central and have been elected liaison officer to coordinate with all the other coordinators, currently registered with Kent Police.

When you open your eyes underwater, do you ever worry that you'll drown?

Why are there still so many wars going on? instead of people getting on with their lives
