| Introduction | I am Melissa G. This blog was created to preserve what is left of my sanity after four years of TTC. Unbeknownst to us, our journey began in the summer of ought seven. I say it all old timey like that because it literally feels like that long ago that all this began, and I now refer to that time as an entirely different era. We were diagnosed with Severe Male Factor in Dec of 2008. After MUCH deliberation we chose Donor Insemination over IVF w/ICSI; partially because we were concerned about the implications of the severity of my husbands diagnosis and how they might impact our potential children, and partially because it was the most financially attainable. Our insurance covers NOTHING for Infertility (Bastards!). We spent the last half of 2009 completing six dIUI's with nary a second line to show for it. Our RE at the time and the second opinion we got were both dumbfounded, because my charts looked so great... Which brings us to RE#3, whom diagnosed me w/ Ovulatory PCOS (different than Classic PCOS) MTHFR and elevated NK Cells. After taking a yearlong break, we got pregnant from our first IVF cycle. I'm a Pisces. I love hockey, blogging, and this IF community. |
