| Introduction | Having grown up in Philadelphia and having spent the last nine years in Chicago, I am all too familiar with the pervasiveness of poverty and hunger. Struck with a desire to want to do more, I have decided to trade in my heels and designer handbags for a mud walled hut and the unknown and have decided to join the Peace Corps. As a member of the small economic development committee, I will have the privilege to work with the people of Burkina Faso in an effort to come up with creative ways to help generate income. |
