Introduction	My first race was in August of 1988. It was called "Racing in Racine". I've been hooked on triathlons ever since. I met my wife and some of my closest friends in this sport. It is the one thing in this world that I do which I have complete control over the outcome. I only have to answer to myself. Being injured and not able to race for 2.5 years was one of the toughest things I've ever had to go through.

Favorite movies	Breaking Away, Bull Durham, Crash, Urban Cowboy, Shark Tales. Love a movie with a great twist at the end
Favorite music	I have a wide variety of music interests. Really depends on my mood. Still a classic rocker at heart. Love the stuff from the 70's - Outlaws, Aero Smith, Van Halen, Nugent, But you can find me listening to John Mayer as well
Favorite books	In Pursuit of Excellence - Orten, Gold in the Water - Mullen, Iron Will - Plant (I have the only copy in the world signed by the original Hawaii Ironman winner, Into the Wild - Krakauer, Peaceful Warrior
