| Introduction | Since childhood I have been expressing myself through the arts. Writing to me is an extension of my soul. Writing poetry is akin to dreaming out loud on paper. Music is my heart and soul and for many years, I sang and managed rock bands. Language has always been a great love for me and I speak American English and am learning and hoping to be fluent someday in Ojibwe (the language of my tribe). I believe my mixed ancestry has lent itself beautifully to my creative talents and inspiration. As well as having Anishinaabe heritage, at a young age, my very cultured British grandmother instilled classical arts into my being. Today I write for several online writing sites and manage several blogs as well as dabbling in some beading and jewelry making and some amazing digital art, when I can find the time! I make my home just outside the lovely and green Portland, Oregon with my children and grandchildren. |
