| Introduction | During my time at the British Stammering Association I have represented BSA at a European Parliament reception, run the 'Stammering is No Joke' media campaign, recorded several videos, campaigned against misleading treatment claims, run a political campaign to support the case for Early Intervention, changed the Royal Borough of Kingston's, and other councils', policy towards people with Speech, Language and Communiation needs, participated in the Speaker's Conference, set up a reception at 10 Downing Street, set up an exclusive interview with Coln Firth, to discuss The King's Speech and have appeared on TV and radio. In my business life, I was fired for stammering before opening my own marketing consultancy. Much of my company's recent work has been for GlaxoSmithKline and other healthcare companies, where we have come to specialise in campaigns supporting people who have difficult or embarrassing medical conditions. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Sales Promotion, a past member of the Royal Kingston Community Strategy Team and a past committee member of the North Surrey Branch of the Federation of Small Businesses. |
