| Introduction | Meghan Elizabeth Caulkett is a masters student at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where she studies with Houston Symphony Principal, Paula Page. She was the recipient of the J.D. Bucky and Cynthia V. Allshouse Endowed Scholarship for the 2011-2012 year, and won the Anadarko Petroleum Corporation Prize for the 2010-2011 year. Meghan was a Young Artist with Da Camera of Houston from 2011-2012. Meghan has performed as principal harpist with numerous orchestras, in solo recitals, chamber recitals, and for people such as legendary film composer John Williams, Boston Symphony Orchestra conductor James Levine, and His Royal Highness Prince Charles. 47 Strings is an innovative and educational outreach program designed by Ms. Caulkett. Its purpose is to provide 47 harp performances to different underserved charitable organizations and through public concerts within the next year. Meghan hopes to foster a greater understanding and appreciation for classical music, by providing concerts to audiences who are not often exposed to the harp. |
