About me

Introduction Extract from Fine and Mellow Discography: On Saturday, 1st January 1938, the band gave a dance at Roseland, Boston, Massachusetts. On Sunday, 2nd January a dance at Hamilton Park, Waterbury, Connecticut then returning to New York City for a Decca recording session on Monday 3rd. Billie could not take part in these Decca sessions as she was signed to ARC/Columbia so she had four days off. (4/5 and 6th were band rest days). On 6th January, she took part in a Teddy Wilson session for Brunswick - in reality, the group was the nucleus of the Basie band. It was a remake of a session which Teddy Wilson had organised on Friday 17th December 1937 but which had failed to 'jell'. British Sterling: £34.95 plus £3.00 p&p.
