Introduction	I am a Family Medicine Resident in an academic residency program, on the way to finishing my intern year. My focus is on my patients and what is best for them, and it blows my mind that more physicians are not seconding my opinion and attitude. I insist on practicing medicine with compassion and respect for my patients. I believe that you cannot represent the best interests of your patients if you do not care about your patients. They are people who come to us in need, they are in a vulnerable position and look up to us. Instead of honoring this trust they place in us, we see them as numbers, opportunities to learn, disease processes or sometimes even as enemies. This is the wrong way to practice medicine. I am looking for people who share my beliefs about providing compassionate care with a heart. Please do not post hateful entries, as these will just make you look worse as healthcare professionals and human beings.
