| Introduction | I have been around the art world for all my life, here and in Australia. I now live in the San Francisco bay Area with my family, with our fish and lizards. Learning to paint the very old fashioned ('smithy') way from my parents, Joy Hester and Gray Smith. At their feet, and at their easels, giving me a very long view of 'how to'. Joy Hester went to the Gallery School in Melbourne and Gray Smith from Max Meldrum in an apprenticeship style training. Acrylics are my forte, with painting in oil, guache, tempera, ink, photo silk screen, digital inkjet printing, steel sculpture, and cloth/mixed media sculpture are some other media I have worked in over my 40 year career.
