Introduction For most of my life I've been on a quest to heal my stomach from unexplainable pains that started back in high school. They would get so bad that I would be doubled-over and couldn't move. I went to the doctor several times and did all sorts of testing for ulcers and such, but they could never find anything wrong with me. Finally, when I was about 24, my mom heard about a neighbor who had been diagnosed with celiacs disease. She suggested I cut out wheat and gluten and see if it made any difference. I tried it, and sure enough, my pain began to alleviate. That was the beginning of a long journey of learning to heal my body with food. I went from cutting out wheat to dairy to meat and to refined sugar. I learned about organic and made the switch in my food, cosmetics, cleaning products and pet food. And a few years ago, as I was walking a beach in Hawaii, I felt inspired to go more raw. That, with regular cleansing, has made the most difference for my stomach and overall health. I know how challenging it can be and for that reason, I am dedicating this blog to those who are making that transition to better health through raw foods.
