| Introduction | My name's Penny McCarthy and I'm a ghostwriter, but not the kind who writes celebrity autobiographies; I write autobiographies for ordinary, everyday people who want to pass their story on to their children and grandchildren - and beyond. Before turning my hand to writing I worked in a wide range of roles, but always with people - as a teacher, community musician, mindfulness teacher, counsellor and civil celebrant. I've never ceased to be amazed at the stories that even seemingly ordinary people have to tell, and I love helping to get them on paper as a vivid and compelling narrative. When I'm not writing I'll be found at home in rural Shropshire, tending my garden and enjoying the soap opera lives of my flock of rare breed hens. |
