Arizona DDD * DES * AzEIP cuts!

Introduction	There is a lot of info floating around right now about the latest updates about the cuts and how to take action, so I decided to start this blog so I can file away and share the info I run across all in one place. I hope this helps others as well. I have been providing early intervention speech therapy services in Arizona for almost 11 years. I understand that cuts need to be made somewhere, but can not believe that they have come in the form of a 55% rate cut for Music Therapy, total elimination of state-funded early intervention therapies (including Developmental Specialist positions!), and I'm not super-thrilled about the 10% rate cut for occupational, physical and speech therapies either. I am shocked and saddened that DES has completely lopped off therapy services for infants and toddlers who so desperately need early intervention services to maximize their potential and to ensure for them the brightest futures they can have!
