| Introduction | Anything that follows "I am" is probably not totally true but here goes anyway: I am a middle aged Black man who considers himself a "relationship person". I am interested in learning (though not always interested in being taught). I love to travel, read, spend time with my family and watch movies. I am not always happy but I am always grateful for the blessings in my life of which there are many. I am a true Californian. I love things that fly, fascinated by machines. I love rockets, outer space and inner space. I consider myself a buddhist, but not a very good one. I was raised a Christian and believe in the essence of a Christianity that is practiced, not evangelized. I love being Black but I am not defined by my Blackness. How people talk to me matters; what they say matters but not as much. I have trouble with arrogant, self-centered, egocentric, "I'm always right" people who don't listen. I admit I may be like that too. I have had experiences in life that few could understand their impact on me, yet most can see the result. I hope it's usually good. |
