| Introduction | Hi! I am a beginner mandolin player but I've trained in music and have played a variety of instruments over the years. Piano was my major at uni, though I did education rather than performance. I play some brass and I sing regularly as a chorister. As mandolin is a stringed instrument, you may wonder what previous experience I have with instruments from that family. I played violin for about six years when I was little and have dabbled on guitar and bass, but would certainly not have considered myself proficient on any of these. I'm hoping this will not be the case with mandolin. It might help that I plan to practise this time! |
