IntroductionHi there! My name is Jennifer and I am a married, thirty-something living in Texas. I imagine I am relatively typical: I like to cook and eat, I'm working on starting a family, and I like to write. I want to be in better shape but don't exercise enough. I love my pets and family and go to church most Sundays. I work full time at a museum, and probably like most people feel like I never have enough time. Also, for those of you wondering... I know "Barroness" is not a word, or the proper spelling of "Baroness". It is a play on my name, and a nickname given to me by a dear and clever friend. Mostly I am a nerd with the hobbies of a senior citizen.
InterestsGood food, inspiring scenery, Elizabeth I, reading, fireplaces, thunderstorms, museums, animals, charity, cooking, learning, dry humor. So many things...
Favorite moviesI really love movies. I swear I like cerebral movies ...I just tend to only watch them once, the ones listed are repeat watchers for a rainy day...Gone With The Wind, Natural Born Killers, Pride and Prejudice, Ghostbusters, Anchorman, anything Harry Potter, Closer, The Godfather, Alice in Wonderland (Burton edition), Braveheart, The Secret Garden, Marie Antoinette, Love Actually, The Princess Bride.
Favorite musicI think my favorite Pandora station is the Spa channel...that is because I am usually needlessly stressed out. However, if I were to list the folks whose music I have actually purchased in the last 10 years (I never really took to itunes) they would be something like...Radiohead,Tony Bennet, Yeah Yeah Yeah's, Dolly Parton, Nina Simone, Damien Rice, Guns n Roses, Lynard Skynard, Muse, Willie Nelson, Tchaikovsky. All genres from rock to Honky Tonk to classical.I love it when people introduce me to new music.
Favorite booksI really really enjoy reading. I am a fan of the classics, and am on a mission to read as many as I possibly can. I am an extremely picky reader as well. I do not enjoy much modern fiction unless it's well within the "Historical Fiction" genre and many books on the "must read" lists have been rotten eggs in my totally unqualified opinion. I like to mix historical fiction and YA series in with classics. Jane Eyre, Picture of Dorian Grey, The Harry Potter Series, Count of Monte Christo, Phillip Pullman and George RR Martin are at the top of my list.
