| Introduction | I began writing for my children when they were very young, bedtime stories, as most parents will do to spend the quality time which none of us ever seem to really have. As a pastor of a medium sized church in West Virginia, I was asked to write editorials for the local newspaper. These editorials became popular, so popular other newspapers began calling and requesting to publish my editorials. When all was said and done, 14 newspapers were carrying my editorials each week. I became a sports editor for the local newspaper and began to cover a multitude of sports, involving the community in the pages I wrote and increasing the circualtion from 4000 papers and week to over 20,000 a week. After a family tragedy, I left pastoring and writing for a few years and the church organization relocated me to troubled churches aroung the world to assist in redeveloping them. I am currently at one in Texas, where the task almost seems insurmountable, but this is what I do now. Writing never left me. And I still wake up in the middle of the night with stories and ideas I want to share. |
