| Introduction | Life isn't easy, & it doesn't get any easier. Absolutely nothing has happened the way I would have predicted. Good things have happened, bad things have, too. Some experiences should have totally taken me down, but then turned out to be vital experiences necessary for my next step. Who would have thought that being gay would be such a beautiful blessing in disguise? It has not only given my life important meaning, but also, dull moments are few & far between. And I would have never guessed that overcoming a near-fatal case of alcoholism would provide me with the strength to accept and love myself more than I ever would have otherwise. These two pieces of me allow me to appreciate life on spiritual levels, & the happiness I enjoy most days continues to grow. Humility & gratitude have taught me that I owe this to the wonderful people in my life. Without them, I would have never gotten this far. |
