| Introduction | A resident of Mason, a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio, I have coached youth sports (baseball mostly) for nearly 20 years, everything from recreational soccer for 5-year-olds to select baseball for college age players. When my own son started playing in 2004, I began to pay closer attention to all of the positive and negative forces around him that affected his mood, self-esteem, and enjoyment of the game, and I wanted capture those moments to make me a better dad and a better coach.
