| Introduction | I am someone who lives with severe chronic pain. I have a few different chronic pain condition/major health issues: Systemic Complex Regional Pain Syndrome; Autonomic Nervous Dysfunction/Dysautonomia & Neuropathy; Spinal Stenosis/Sciatica/Herniated Disc/DDD; Myofascial Pain Syndrome; severe chronic migraines; food allergies; MCAS; to name a few. I have been in constant pain since I woke up with it at the age of 18, during my 1st week of college. I had a wonderful partner in life who had Cystic Fibrosis, had had two lung transplants (a living donor lobar transplant/doouble lung transplant and a single lung retransplant) and was battling chronic lung rejection and infections/pneumonias. I lost my handsome, loving husband on August 27th, 2011 (a day I will never forget, and in the middle of a hurricane). Our lives/my life have/has definitely turned out differently than planned/dreamed, but this is my/our journey (the joys, triumphs, hopes, dreams, struggles, disappointments, and trials), and the strength, hope, faith, and love that carries us/me through each day (particularly the tough days when you focus on putting one foot in front of the other). |
