| Introduction | Your author descends from eight great grandparents that settled in America from Italy at the turn of the 20th century. The passion to discover and know those ancestors, while becoming more aware of my own Italian cultural roots, has been a driving force since childhood. Intense emotions to discover those ancestors and our shared but changing culture, has taught me immensely, while providing many rewards. I have experienced much success in researching my family’s history; however, there were many barriers for this researcher of solely Italian ancestry. Examples were a lack of specific information, tips, tools and general pointers for the focused Italian researcher. The primary goal of this blog is to share my experiences and solutions to those barriers, while enlightening the reader interested in Italian genealogy, history and culture. Future information will hopefully ease the efforts of focused Italian researchers as they pursue their own ancestry and family history. I hope you visit often and happy hunting. Ciao... Michael |
