| Introduction | Danny Malone goes to bed early most of the time. If and when he goes to the movies, he sneaks in. He doesn’t like to pay for haircuts, so if his hair is short now somehow, ’twill grow long again, invariably. He doesn’t think about much else except music and songs. Sometimes he thinks about how he will pay rent and stuff, but probably much less often than a normal person. His car is usually sitting broken in front of his house. It’s a volkswagen golf. red. 2 door. It has a a sticker on it supporting Ralph Nader and his presidential campaign. Danny met Heidi in January ’07, and they’ve played music together almost every day since. Heidi cuts Danny’s hair when he really needs a haircut. She does not expect to be paid for this. Heidi fixes her own car, so her car works almost all of the time. Her dog Ruby never listens to anybody. Heidi is either going to be a band director, or a rock star when she grows up. Heidi and Danny get along really well because they can both drink as much coffee as they want in front of each other and not feel ashamed, as they do in front of normal people.
