| Introduction | I often pause when I get asked the question "Where are you from?"....because the truth is, I'm made of many different components from all over the world! I like to sometimes answer this question by telling people I have a Canadian heart, Egyptian blood running through my veins, and a Trini soul (which has become updated to a Grenadian soul since marrying a Grenadian 4 years ago!). For those anywhere NOT from Canada, I claim Toronto as my home, but for you Canadians, I actually grew up in Brampton :) I left for Phoenix, Arizona for University and completed my undergrad at ASU and then taught there for a year. That's when the fun started and I was recruited by the NYC Department of Education and spent 10 amazing years living and teaching in NYC. I met my husband there, got married and pregnant there, and then moved to Jacksonville, FL where I have been a teacher for 3 years, and now call home. We now have 2 beautiful daughters - one of whom is a newborn...and so....I begin my new journey as a stay at home mom of 2 under the age of 3! |
