Even free web services are jealous of their patronage, and are not very plain in stating their limitations. You may easily start searches, and indeed continue to pursue them endlessly, without realising there are no records for that period; or for the country you are researching. It is best to learn, therefore, how to find this out up front. If you want a second opinion, read the Blogs for users. Secondly, it is more efficient for you to understand the PRINCIPLES of PRODUCTIVE research, and clear away the "fog", before launching into the world-wide web. Because I am not a professional researcher, my sympathy for the amateur motivates me to simplify the art of genealogy and family history research. If I was endeavouring to be a professional, I would not be teaching for free the secrets of research. |
