IntroductionI am an artist living in the small community of Musselmans Lake, in the heart of the Oak Ridges Moraine. I feel privileged to live here and I draw most of my inspiration from the beauty of the natural world; I seek it out at every opportunity. My favoured medium is coloured pencil for its ability to deliver bold colour and crisp lines. While there is nothing more inspiring than the intricate creation of the universe we inhabit, the artists I most admire are Harry Clarke and Aubrey Beardsley (19th century illustrators). The strong lines and stylization of Japanese manga, and the bold colours of 21st century graphic novels are also influential in my work. Initially, I started this blog simply as a frame to showcase my work, but it is much more than that now. It is an illustration of how I see the world. While I know there is no way to get behind another's eyes and see the world the way they do, I hope this blog will make a contribution to bridging that chasm. Many images are mental snapshots of moments in time. Your comments are more than welcome; art, after all, springs from a desire to communicate with the world.
