Introduction In 2005, I became the first non-Republican to win a seat on the Washington Township Committee since 1978. My decision to enter politics was solely driven by 2005's infamous 11% municipal tax increase imposed by an all Republican committee. Over the next three years, my efforts as Finance Liaison drove municipal tax growth below 3%. As you can see from the chart above, it didn't take the Republicans long to screw up a good thing. In fact, it seems my efforts were so successful the GOP recently abolished the position of Finance Liaison to avoid comparisons to my record. In late 2007, I joined the Morris County for Obama grassroots organization as its Co-Chair and made the decision to affiliate with the Democrat Party and run on the Democrat ticket in the 2008 Primary and General Elections. As many predicted, running as a Democrat in “Republican dominated” Washington Township didn’t advance my political career. While Obama’s overall electoral fate did not rest in the hands of township voters, mine obviously did. Nevertheless, I am proud to have served as the local “anchor” man on the President's ticket and have no regrets whatsoever.

This is a colon : and this is a semi-colon ; - what's a semi-truck?

A semi-trailer is a trailer without a front axle. A semi-truck is a road tractor coupled to a semi-trailer. Simple, huh?
