Jan Gałek (born in 1988) – I am a student of physical education on the University of Sports, member of KW-Wrocław (Wrocław Alpine Club). I am a precursor of slacklining in Poland. I have visited most popular highline areas and put up many new ones in USA (including places like: Yosemite, Moab, Joshua Tree etc.), Europe (for example Meteora in Greece) and Mexico (Baja). I happened to be the first Pole to send legendary “Lost Arrow Spire” Highline (Yosemite, 2007). On my tick list you can find one of the worlds best highline and longline sends, but also some decent achievements in tricklining. So far I walked around 400 unique highline from which 59 were free-soloes. I was a special guest during multiple slackline festivals, won many slackline contests in Poland, Czech Republic, Germany and Austria. I am an editor of the “Slackline Corner” section inside GÓRY climbing magazine. I am sponsored by: Balance Community, Deuter, LEKI, Hippy Tree, Outdoor Research, Tendon, Rock Empire and Ortlieb sponsor me. I am proud to be part of elite highline team Somewhereelseland.
