Introduction There is a vegan tidal wave approaching. Cruelty-free households and businesses are sprouting everywhere at a rapid pace. What’s equally wonderful is the decreasing number of vegan skeptics. Veganism is enjoying tremendous news coverage and advocacy. The appalling practices of meat and dairy industries, not to mention their role in global warming and human illnesses and obesity, are becoming widely known thanks to a number of exposés (no, not only by PETA, by mainstream media too). I am finding my own personal vegan spiel less necessary. I get fewer “eye rolls” when I tell people I’m vegan. In fact, I'm amazed at how often I'm approached for advice on meat/dairy alternatives by non-vegans. People see that our meals are fabulous because we have been forced to learn more about food and flavour than most people, we feel and look healthy, there is a vegan alternative to everything and even non-vegan establishments offer vegan options. Cooking is my favourite thing to do. I admit, I have become a bit of food snob. A vegan food snob. I’d like to think my food is enjoyable by vegans and meat eaters alike.
