| Introduction | I started painting soon after I retired. In just a few weeks, I knew I had found my passion. I had to know everything about soft pastels! I bought books, paper, DVDs, and most importantly lots and lots of pastels. After painting for a couple of years, I toyed with the idea of starting a Society where like-minded painters could get together and talk about art. So in 2004, I founded the Central Pennsylvania Pastel Society. We started with 12 members and now have approximately 40 members.
