About me

Location Silver Spring, MD, United States
Introduction I have my views on the issues placed before me on life. My views are instinctive, intuitive. But I like to think I am a fairly reasonable guy who took to the academic training I was subjected to at college to consider a subject from every possible point of view. So, I seek to take a dispassionate view of the issues placed before me. I spent a sufficient amount of time working in the US Senate to have a good idea of how it works and why it works (or fails), but most of my time was not on The Hill, but on the ground, in the communities where the proverbial rubber (laws and regulations) hits the road (impact normal people). This is where I had a great deal of practice approaching difficult, complicated, and important issues dispassionately. Too many decisions were made (or not made), and opportunities lost because of emotion. This is no way to run a rodeo. Yes, the emotional value is an important consideration as to prioritizing the amount of time and attention invested in figuring out a solution to a given problem; however, the actual method by which a solution is found must be a dispassionate approach. Otherwise, all is lost.
