| Introduction | I am a behaviorist and I was sure Behaviorism would spread like wildfire. But today I am certain we need more research before that can happen: We lack data on how reinforcement attracts organisms from a distance. I was chief psychologist at The Children's Diagnostic & Rehabilitation Clinic, Be'er Sheva, Israel. Our staff included physiotherapists, occupational therapists, a social worker, speech clinicians, kindergarten teachers and aides, psychologists and our director, a pediatrician. The children (aged up to 6 years) suffer from autism, C.P.and other developmental disabilities. I started work there 35 years ago and was hugely excited to find stimuli and reinforcement work with and for children as well as animals in conditioning laboratories! |
