| Introduction | In light of excellence, Demitrea Kelley, Miss Black Indiana USA 2011 was pleased to receive such an honorable title. Demitrea continually refers to her life as “a true blessing” because she feels that every day she walks in order of her purpose. She hopes to motivate, inspire, captivate and lend a helping hand to each and every person that she comes in contact with near or far. This is her story: Purdue University taught her the true identity of hard work and determination. There she found the idea to bring awareness to Sickle Cell Anemia, a disease that affects her immediate family and the African American community. She organized a blood drive that saved 30 peoples lives in less than 4 hours. After graduation, Demitrea decided to further her education to impact lives. Demitrea Kelley, is looking forward to a successful year in 2011, and hopes for nothing but “prosperity and happiness”. Her key to achievement is “Yearning for something so deep that it advances your heart to pump harder, and it will keep this steady pace until your goal is accomplished.
