Introduction Over some time travelling to developing countries, I've developed inklings to become a social entrepreneur. In certain countries in North Africa, such as Egypt and Morocco, and in parts of Turkey and Latin America, there is such a great tradition of artisanship and producing handmade goods that is being passed down many times from across generations - yet people continue to struggle economically but still persist in their artistry and production skills. Someone with a social conscience coupled with entrepreneurship skills needs to step in and do their part in the developing world. We are no longer observers but participants to make positive economic, cultural and environmental impact to local communities, promote livelihood and preserve artistic traditions that are indigenous to certain parts of the world. So, to define who I am today, being a social entrepreneur allows me to recognize a social problem during my travels and use entrepreneurial principles to create a venture to achieve social change.
