| Introduction | THE INDIANA WRITING PROJECT, based at Ball State University, is an organization committed to promoting the best possible writing instruction in Indiana's elementary, secondary, and post-secondary schools. IWP offers a number of professional development programs by and for teachers, including the Invitational Summer Institute, which draws teachers of writing from across the state for an intensive professional development experience for four weeks each summer. The Indiana Writing Project, founded in 1986, was Indiana's first affiliate of the National Writing Project. Currently there are five National Writing Project affiliates in Indiana, forming the Indiana Network. |
