Gender Male
Industry Consulting
Occupation Jornalista, programador
Location São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil
Introduction Richard Pedicini earned his degree in philosophy from Yale. In New York's financial district he wrote the MIS system of Shearson/Lehman Brothers, both those firms relying on his programs for over a decade. He also calculated the numbers for Merrill Lynch's very first mortgage-backed securities, their very last being somebody else's fault.

After some years of shuffling papers bytes, he jumped at an offer to set up instant lotteries (scratch-offs) in Brazil, selling more than half a billion lottery tickets.

He has occasionally written for major Brazilian newspapers; for the press-criticism site Observatório de Imprensa; for Aviation International News, and as the "São Paulo Bureau" of the blog of Joe Sharkey.

He does sporadic human-rights work, specializing in press crimes and unpopular causes. He dislikes appearing on television.

He finds Brazil a more interesting place to live than New York, if not as well-paying.
Interests Crimes de imprensa, segurança de aviação, praias
