| Introduction | Julie Nygaard Photography & Abstract Art Being a visual artist, I am always surrounded by inspiration; life is art. The act of being in the NOW, being mindful and embracing the ebb and flow of life, opens your entire being to not only seeing with your eyes, instead with all of your senses. Photography, digital and film, are my outlet to bring my visions to life. Photoshop, Lightroom and Paint.net are some of the programs I use. Mixed media art, through paint and collage, found items of interest, then mixing these with photography is another portal. Through digital photography manipulation, I create a bridge to my inner thoughts and emotions, my personal life and my autoimmune disorders. I am self taught and an active member of CVAC, Chemainus Valley Cultural Arts Society and the art community in the Cowichan Valley since 2008. My artwork can be found at the Rainforest Arts Gallery in Chemainus, Artisans Studio in Nanaimo and various art events year round in the Cowichan Valley and throughout Vancouver Island. |
