About me

IntroductionI was going to name this blog "pretty how town" in tribute to the lyrical ee cummings verse (and "up so floating many bells down") because of the poem's offbeat cadences that parallel the ups and downs of our lives. But then I realized anyone attempting to google this blog- its title so "cleverly" lifted from the poem as first imagined-would swiftly be redirected to a jumble of sites connected to the poet- and not to FICTION FOR THE MASSES by NEW YORK STORYWEAVER. Not so clever after all! So once again, I was forced to compromise- i.e, come up with a new blog title. So many blogs, so many bloggers,I wanted it to be memorable, Google-able! What are your own compromises, and how have they worked out? Feel free to comment on these posts-freely. See you in cyberspace- NY Storyweaver
InterestsMy interests? Maintaining a level of personal privacy and serenity in an increasingly public, sometimes brash and chaotic world- a growing challenge for sure! The struggle to preserve this waning luxury affects our sense of personal space, individual well-being and brand of civility we practice toward each other. Favorite things? Do we really need the short list? It's like catching unwanted snippets (or occasional monologues) of each other's phone calls on the street, or bleeping every spontaneous thought or impulse through a text, tweet or animated gesture on the road, or "friending" numerous virtual strangers in cyberspace. Does this constitute "openness"? In truth, how essential is it to think we "know" someone's favorite music, food, movie, political or religious view, author, philosophical musing- of-the hour, aphorism or catch phrase? Why not just talk about the issues at hand, make connections with each other and be candid in our conversations. Ultimately, is it entirely possible ever to truly separate the dancer from the dance, the writer from the words? Let's exchange words and ideas here. Finally, a little mystery can be a wonderful thing. I just read this over and am wondering about its real significance- we've all long since become entwined in the web. I will change my mind many times, and there's no such thing as a final edition. So just enjoy fictionforthemasses.blogspot.com and see ya' around- MR
