| Introduction | I am an African! I am a South African, Afrikaans speaking (though I went to an English-speaking school), minister of the Dutch Reformed Church. Born in 1963 ( the year JFK died, MLKing had a dream, the remote control and valium saw the light) I never voted for the National Party (really!, because these days everyone in SA says this). I have served at one church since 1990, with a deep involvement in world-wide missions. Our small congregation (200 people) have been excited to see God doing wonderful and life-changing things through this involvement. I was thrilled to rediscover Reformed Theology about 10 years ago through "Let the Nations be Glad" and "Desiring God" because in it I found a Reformed theology that vibrated with joy, passion, warmth, fellowship, worship, personal devotion and a care for the lost. These things were mostly missing in the Reformed theology I experienced in seminary and synods. I have a lovely and long suffering wife, with 2 children who are growing up way to quickly. |
