| Introduction | Welcome to the blog of Kris Sims, founder, creator, and designer of Livy Marie handbags. Sewing is a new found love of mine. I have always been creative and that leads me to all sorts of projects. About a year ago my paths crossed with a handcrafted handbag and I had to have one. So I brought out the old sewing machine and went at it! That was just the start of a long journey to finally launch my own business, Livy Marie. The company is named after my two youngest daughters, Olivia (whom we call Livy) and Maria. Before the business comes a whole lot of stuff. Most importantly is my family. I have a wonderful supportive husband named Bill and 5 loving children (Alexandra 14, Curtis 12, Anna 10, Olivia 5, Maria 3). Being a wife and mom is a lot of work, but I am also a teacher. That is, I homeschool my children as well. I am lucky enough to be able to stay home with my great kids and spend all day with them. Yes, that is right, I like to be home with my kids! Unfortunately all of that does not leave me with much time to sew. But when I do manage some time at my machine, I like to produce high quality, beautiful bags! |
