| Introduction | My name is Beverley Heptinstall and my family and I immigrated to Canada from the UK in 2008, we all knuckled down and did what we could to settle in to our new lives here and it's been a relatively smooth settle. My children settled in OK but came across some difficulties but no more than any other child but they are getting there and I have no doubts whatsoever that they will go big distances when their time comes. I think a child that has immigrated becomes aware early that the world could be their oyster if they make the right decisions and it's quite normal to go live in other countries randomly. One of the differences in Canada, as a Dispensing Optician is the fact you can open up your own Optical Dispensary without an Eye Doctor present, this gives the consumer so much more choice, if they would only realise it. Well that's what I did, I got as much experience as I could in other Optical establishments before taking a risk and setting up on my own, hopefully this blog will serve as a story to trials and tribulations and hopefully successes! |
