Introduction	I have a dysfunctional relationship with lipstick. I've got a bunch of them stuck in a drawer that I don't use but can't seem to throw away. Some turn my face into a bloody mask, others make my teeth look more yellow than they already are, some are in a beautiful case but they dry out my lips, or look great but don't smell right. I keep looking for what Gwyneth Paltrow calls "kick-ass red" lipstick, but have not found the right one for me yet - and probably never will. It's my mother's fault. She told me that my lips were too big for lipstick. You'd think that after all these years I would have trashed that lie. But no. See what I mean? Maybe if I collect lipstick stories I will be cured.
