If mud is dirt plus water, what is clay?
Clay is the unholy union of fine sediment and Satan's spittle. When dry, it's totally FINE. Combine it with a little water or oil, you can make so many different things with it. Fine. Friendly. Fun to play with. ...But when it's submerged under pond water, it turns into a combination of wet cement and quicksand. And I would know. I was HIP DEEP IN IT and still sinking. Nearly died.
