About me

GenderFemale
OccupationWandering with Purpose
LocationSomewhere warm
IntroductionUntil March 20th 2020, and for the last 22 years, I had been travelling the world. It has been my travelling time of life. Then Coronavirus hit and all changed. I had retired at 53 and decided to wander as I wished, I would sometimes work as a volunteer, sometimes sit under a palm tree In 2013 my daughter and her family relocated to Sydney in Australia so I could go there in autumn...and on the way stop in Asia or the US. I have always spent summers in Southern Spain and other parts of Europe. I do not like winter. I do not like the cold and grey. In 1995/1996 I had travelled around the world for 13 months and in total I have now visited 85 countries. Initially I was frustrated by my inability to plan trips because of Covid but that passed and I continued to be nomadic Now at 80 I wonder how long I will be able to wander...certainly I am spending longer periods in Australia. Just watch the space
InterestsGetting through today whilst focussing only on today, Keeping warm. Visiting interesting places and people. Drinking red wine, talking to my lovely daughter Lee, my grandson, Tate and grand daughter, Miller.
Favorite moviesThe Magnificence of the Ambersons by Orson Wells, Fanny & Alexandrea by Bergman, It's a Wonderful Life, Field of Dreams The Truman Show Crash Hero Don't Look Back and many more too numerous to name here.
Favorite musicJoni Mitchell, Jackson Browne Mozart, Stephen Sondheim, Bob Dylan, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Ry Cooder, Bruce Springsteen Paul Simon, Ricky Lee Jones, Little Feat. Steely Dan, Counting Crows, Miles Davis, and so many more.... but NOT rap
Favorite booksI read Paul Theroux with delight and many other travel writers. A favourite is Rose Tremain. She writes wonderful stories, often recreating historical periods and her depth of research is amazing. However I read so many books I can't name them all....but mainly psychological , never fantasy and not with embossed covers NOR chic lit.
