Introduction I am Founder and Executive Director of The Whalesong Project. We seek to inspire people to care about the world's oceans, and to act to protect them. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to work with so many bright people who contribute to our project, and to hear from people, near and far away, who are touched by the work we do. Thanks for visiting our site. If you are touched by it, please share it with others. The picture of me was taken while I was pointing our 2.4 GHz dish antenna out to our buoy to establish first contact for our 2007-2008 whale season. We Whalesong People are an eclectic group with diverse skills and talents. We are not very political on our website. We work to create awareness and appreciation. We also work quietly behind the scenes, with aloha, to keep our oceans healthy. My Hawaiian name was given to me by Auntie Nona Beamer, and acknowledges my connection to the oceans and to her family. Nona is a close friend and mentor, and was also a founding Board Member of The Whalesong Project. Mahalo, e Nona. I feel that to live in Hawai'i I need to support the environment and the culture. Whalesong is one project in which I attempt to do both.
