Introduction I've been a Civil War Reenactress since the 2013 season, but have been attending the Duncans Mills event since I was a youngling. To be frank, my impression hasn't been great in the past. Farb was everywhere and I kept beating myself up for not portraying an accurate - or at least close-to-accurate - impression. Research was (and still is) pretty hard via the internet as there is SO much misinformation. Additionally, some sutlers and mercantiles that claim to sell accurate "reenactor grade" items, just aren't. That being said, I don't claim to know it all and frankly, I hope this blog will be a discussion place for us ladies striving for impressions that impress. That we can all make each other better. If I post something that you know to be false or inaccurate, I want you to call me out. Just do it nicely and provide your source. For me personally, I'm aiming for a pre-war to early war impression, focusing on fashions that were popular in the years 1859, 60 & 61. I'll probably post most things for this time period as this is where my focus is, but I'm going to try to provide information through the end of the war, up to 1866.
