| Introduction | John Koten is a (mostly) retired editor and writer learning the trade of wooden boat building and restoration. He has a shop in a woodworking studio at Liberty Warehouse, named after the famous French-made statue it once housed. The building is situated on a pier in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
