About me

Introduction I was born in Anchorage, Alaska, but don't have many memories of it because we moved to Chico, California when I was four. Less than a month after I graduated from Chico High I moved out to Provo to attend BYU. I spent a semester in Nauvoo, taught English in Guatemala for about four months and served a mission in Costa Rica. I met my husband Joseph Ashby on my mission in Costa Rica. He was my Zone Leader for more than half my mission, so we got to be good friends. We finished our missions at the same time and then both went out to BYU for school. We got married August 2, 2003 in the Manti Utah temple. Our first child, Isabel Nilka, was born in Provo on August 21st, 2004. She is almost three, very articulate and loves to play "make believe/pretend." Ansel Martín was born last Thanksgiving (November 23, 2006) in Orem. He is a lot happier now that he can sit up and reach many new things to put in his mouth. Joseph graduated from BYU in April of 2007 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He decided to work for Rocky Mountain Composites (an Aerospace Engineering firm in Spanish Fork.) We just bought our first home and are excited for this new stage in our lives.
